Question 1: How to force Network Discovery to start before its normal scheduled time?


By default network discovery starts automatically after you install Nectus software and subsequent discoveries will run every 24 hours.

But sometimes  it is required to force network discovery to start outside its configured schedule.

To force network discovery to start immediately perform following two steps:

  1. Clear Discovery log (in Logs -> Discovery Log)
  2. Restart Discovery Service (in Settings -> Services Status


Question 2: I really hate the dark color scheme of GUI pages. Can I have something lighter?

Answer:  Yes. Each user can switch between dark and light color schemes in Settings -> General Settings -> Miscellaneous


Question 3: Does Nectus support discovery of Meraki and Juniper devices?

Answer:  Yes. We support discovery of 1200 different vendors including Meraki and Juniper.


Question 4: Why Nectus didn’t find any of my network devices?

Answer:  Most common reasons:

Mismatching SNMP  parameters

There is an ACL configured on network devices that only allow specific  IP address to connect via SNMP

Blocking Firewall between Nectus Server and Network Devices

Note: Nectus Server GUI has integrated SNMP Walk utility that allows quick check for SNMP connectivity to any device.
